Celebrating Success: The Hokie Way Auction Raises $128,750 for Community Initiatives

The Hokie Way Auction, held from April 1st to April 15th, was a huge success, raising an impressive $128,750 in support of The Hokie Way's efforts to empower Virginia Tech student-athletes to create a lasting impact with charitable partners and communities.

Featuring a diverse array of 53 packages, the auction attracted bids from across the nation, with 42 lucky winners securing their desired items. Notably, winning bids came from 12 different states, underscoring the widespread reach and impact of Hokie Nation.

Among the most sought-after items were the "Autographed '25' Jersey from Coach Beamer’s Last Game" and "Suite Tickets to a 2024 Football Game," each receiving a remarkable 54 bids. However, it was the "Private Flight to the Tee: McConnell Golf Foursome" that captured the highest bid of all packages, fetching an astonishing $12,500.

Matthew Sams, Executive Director of The Hokie Way, expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support, stating, "We're extremely pleased with the results of our first Auction. Thanks to the support of many generous parties, we were able to offer some unique items and experiences. Hokie Nation was amazing as usual, and we're thankful to everyone who participated."
